Indonesia consistently supports one China policy and the peaceful reunification of China, Foreign Ministry Spokesman Yuri Thamrin says here in Jakarta Friday (February 24, 2006) when asked about Indonesia's position on Taiwan authority's leader Chen Shui-bien's recent claim to abolish National Unification Council and National Unification Guidelines.

" Indonesia's position on this issue is clear, and that is, we consistently support one China policy and the national reunification process of China which is conducted in a peaceful way. This position is consistent, even during the frozen period of diplomatic relations in the past," the Spokesman tells a regular press conference. "From Indonesia's position, we expect that peace, stability and security can be maintained across the Taiwan Straits, because we consider this as a crucial factor to peace and stability in Asia-Pacific Region and even the world at large."
