Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Hong Lei announces:

At the invitation of Prime Minister Thongsing of Laos, Premier Wen Jiabao will attend the Ninth Asia-Europe Meeting in Vientiane, Laos from November 4 to 6 and pay an official visit to Laos.

During the Meeting, Premier Wen Jiabao will elaborate China's views on the current global economic and financial situation and propositions of strengthening Asia-Europe cooperation. He will meet with leaders of some participating countries and exchange views with them on bilateral relations and Asia-Europe cooperation.

During his visit to Laos, Premier Wen Jiabao will have an in-depth exchange of views with leaders of Laos on bilateral relations and issues of common interest to further consolidate bilateral good-neighborly friendship, deepen practical cooperation and promote the development of China-Laos comprehensive strategic partnership of cooperation.
