Li Keqiang Meets with Indonesian Guest
2015/01/28

On the morning of January 27, 2015, Premier Li Keqiang met at Ziguangge of Zhongnanhai with Sofyan Djalil, Indonesia's Presidential Envoy and Coordinating Minister for Economy, who was in China for the first meeting of China-Indonesia High-level Economic Dialogue.

Li Keqiang spoke positively of the development of China-Indonesia relations, stressing that the development of East Asia is attracting more attention while the global economy is undergoing profound readjustment. China and Indonesia are both emerging economies with large populations across the sea, and to maintain strategic mutual trust, enhance high-level dialogue and deepen mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries conduce not only to safeguarding peace and stability in East Asia but also to creating a sound environment for the two countries' development.

Li Keqiang expressed that there are common ground in China's 21st Century Maritime Silk Road initiative and Indonesia's development strategy. Indonesia needs large-scale infrastructure construction while China has rich production capacity, thus both are highly complementary in cooperation. China will carry out cooperation with Indonesia in production capacity and help build relevant factories and production lines, which will not only benefit infrastructure construction in Indonesia but also help advance its industrialization process.

Sofyan Djalil said that the new Indonesian government attaches great importance to developing relations with China, welcomes Chinese enterprises to invest in Indonesia and carry out infrastructure cooperation. Indonesia is confident in China's technology and equipment, and believes that they can help Indonesia's development.

State Councilor Yang Jiechi attended the meeting.
