Xi Jinping Arrives in Jakarta for Attendance of Asian-African Summit and Activities Commemorating the 60th Anniversary of the Bandung Conference

On April 21 local time, President Xi Jinping arrived in Jakarta, capital of Indonesia, to attend the Asian-African Summit and activities commemorating the 60th anniversary of the Bandung Conference at the invitation of President Joko Widodo of the Republic of Indonesia.

At around 11:50 in the evening local time, Xi Jinping's special plane arrived at the Halim Perdanakusuma Airport in Jakarta. When Xi Jinping and his wife Mme. Peng Liyuan walked down the ramp, Minister of Home Affairs Tjahjo Kumolo and Minister of Finance Bambang Brodjonegoro of Indonesia greeted them at the airport on behalf of the Indonesian government.

Wang Huning, Li Zhanshu, Yang Jiechi and other delegation members arrived by the same plane.

H.E. Xie Feng, Chinese Ambassador to Indonesia, also greeted them at the airport.

Xi Jinping arrived in Jakarta after concluding his state visit to Pakistan. Upon leaving Islamabad, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and his wife and some senior officials of Pakistan bade them farewell at the airport.

Xi Jinping extended his gratitude to Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif as well as the Pakistani government and people for the warm reception and thoughtful arrangements during this visit. Xi Jinping noted that this visit contains rich content and yields fruitful result, and he fully feels the friendly affections held by the Pakistani people towards China.

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif noted that the visit paid by President Xi Jinping is very successful and will surely consolidate the traditional friendship between Pakistan and China. The speech delivered by President Xi Jinping at the Pakistani Parliament that morning was very wonderful, receiving warm responses in Pakistan. Pakistan will, together with China, spare no efforts to implement the achievements scored by the visit and constantly enrich the connotation of the Pakistan-China community of shared destiny.

Before Xi Jinping's special plane left the Pakistani territorial airspace, eight Pakistani Air Force JF-17 Thunder fighter jets took off to escort it.
