Joint Press Release of the 2nd Maritime Cooperation Committee Meeting between the Government of the Republic of Indonesia and the Government of the People's Republic of China

The 2nd Maritime Cooperation Committee (MCC) meeting between the Government of the Republic of Indonesia and the government of the People's Republic of China was held in Jakarta, Indonesia on 12 May 2014. The meeting was co-chaired by H.E. Liu Zhenmin, Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China and H.E. Wardana, Vice Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, attended by officials from relevant ministries and institutions of the two countries.

The meeting underlined the importance of strengthening concrete maritime cooperation between the two countries. The meeting recalled the progress of relevant maritime cooperation projects adopted at the 1st MCC meeting held on 6 December 2012 in Beijing, and had a thorough discussion on new project proposals raised in the 8th Technical Committee Meeting on Maritime Cooperation held on 10 December 2013 in Bandung.

The Meeting agreed to strengthen dialogue on maritime cooperation and work closely to manifest the projects in order to achieve a significant success for both countries. The meeting committed to accomplish the projects under the 1st MCC meeting and further adopted the relevant maritime cooperation projects under the framework of the 2nd MCC meeting.

The meeting also agreed to convene the 3rd MCC meeting in China.
