On August 10, Xu Shaoshi, President Xi Jinping's special envoy and head of the National Development and Reform Commission, met Indonesian President Joko Widodo in jakarta and submitted a feasibility study for the Jakarta-Bandung high-speed rail project.

During his visit, Xu also met other Indonesian cabinet ministers for further communications.
