On July 2, 2015, President Xi Jinping sent a message of condolences to President Joko Widodo of Indonesia on the crash of the military aircraft.

Xi Jinping expressed that I'm shocked to learn that a transport aircraft of the air force of your country crashed near Medan, capital of North Sumatra on June 30, killing many people on board and on the ground. On behalf of the Chinese government and people, I would like to express deep sympathy on this unfortunate event and deep grief to the victims and sincere condolences to their families.
