This year marks the 15th anniversary of dialogue partnership between China and ASEAN. As part of a series of celebrating activities which were agreed upon on ACJCC meeting last April in Nanning China, "China Film Week" is scheduled to be held in the ten ASEAN member countries in succession between July and September this year.
In Indonesia, the Chinese Embassy, in collaboration with Indonesian Department of Foreign Affairs, ASEAN Secretariat will co-host this event from July 12 to 16. On the first day, namely July 12, an opening ceremony will be held side by side with a grand reception in commemoration of the 15 anniversary of dialog partnership between China and ASEAN at Usmar Ismail Hall in Kuningan. The event will be attended by Chinese Ambassador H.E. Lan Lijun, Secretary-General of ASEAN H.E. Ong Keng Yong and Indonesian Foreign Minister H.E. Hassan Wirajuda as well as other VIPs.
The film week is open to governmental officials, parliament members, university teachers and students as well as all the other general public. Tickets will be distributed complementarily by the Embassy in conjunction with Department of Foreign Affairs, RI.
The "China Film Week" will surely provide a unique opportunity for Indonesian audience to appreciate Chinese culture and cinematographic art, which is conducive to the promotion of mutual understanding and cultural exchanges between the peoples of our two countries.
