Ambassador Lan Lijun meets with President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono to discuss Iran Nuclear Issue

 

      At the invitation of Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, Chinese Ambassador Lan Lijun met with him at the Presidential Palace on Tuesday, January 31, 2006.

 

 

     The President briefs the Ambassdaor on Indonesia's stance on the Nuclear Issue and expressed Indonesia's appreciation of China's positive role on the issue as one of the five permanent members of UN Security Council. He said that Indonesia, as one of the Board of Governors of International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), is willing to coordinate with China and other counties concerned and strive for a peaceful solution to the crisis.

        Ambassador Lan Lijun briefly introduced China's position and expressed China's willingness to cooperate with relative countries including Indonesia and continue play a positive role in negotiating a peaceful solution to the crisis.
