Ambassador Xie Attended the Opening Ceremony of the First International Art Exhibition

On the evening of October 18th ,2014,the First International Art Exhibition was held at the Indonesian National Museum ,which was sponsored by the Indonesia-China Art Association and co-organized by the Western Returned Scholars Association. Xie Feng, the Chinese Ambassador to Indonesia was invited to attend the opening ceremony and gave a speech. With warm applause from more than 300 guests and attendees, Ambassador Xie struck the gong to announce the opening of the Art Exhibition. Then Ambassador Xie walked around the exhibition with great interest accompanied by the artists.

 

The First International Art Exhibition has collected 90 works of 30 artists from Chinese Mainland and Taiwan, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore and the United States. Rao Yunzhi, Chairwoman of the Indonesia-China Art Association expressed her gratitude to Ambassador Xie for his attendance. Prof. Dr. Endang Caturwati, the representative from the Ministry of Education and Culture conveyed her congratulations on the successful opening of the Art Exhibition in her speech.

Ambassador Xie sang high praise for the works on exhibition and expressed his full confirmation on the successful holding of it. He pointed out that the International Art Exhibition would become an exchange platform where artists from different countries and areas could share ideas with each other, it wa. a good opportunity to showcase the beauty of art and promote cultural diversity and it could be a commendable exploration to seek cultural exchange and cooperation through international exhibitions. He emphasized that art treasures from each other and every civilization are common heritage of the entire mankind. and the event would promote dialogue among civilizations and contribute to the shared prosperity of diverse forms of painting across the world.

Ambassador Xie pointed out that driven by the establishment of China-Indonesia comprehensive strategic partnership, the political and economic ties between the two countries had been expanding and deepening in recent years. The exchange and cooperation in culture, education, youth affairs and sports had also been quite robust and fruitful. Waves of outstanding contemporary Chinese cultural events had come to Indonesia in recent years, which were well-received in the Indonesian society. At the same time, many unique Indonesian arts had been presented to the Chinese public, making a positive social impact. He sincerely hoped that the Chinese and Indonesian governments and social organizations would hold more and more diverse and popular cultural events to build a vibrant cultural life for the two peoples. In doing so, it would further enhance the friendship and make important contribution to the all-round development of the bilateral relations. The Chinese Embassy would continue to encourage and support these endeavors.

The preparatory work of the Art Exhibition got support from several sources including the Culture Office of the Chinese Embassy. Jin Hongyue , the Culture Counselor of the Chinese Embassy was in company with Ambassador Xie attending the opening ceremony.
