Ambassador Zhang Qiyue Holds Reception in Celebration of the 61st Founding Anniversary of the People's Republic of China and the 60th Anniversary of China-Indonesia Diplomatic Ties

On the evening of September 21st 2010, the Chinese Embassy in Indonesia held a grand reception to celebrate the 61st founding anniversary of the People's Republic of China and the 60th anniversary of China-Indonesia diplomatic ties.

Indonesian Vice President Boediono and other dignitaries attended the reception. More than 1600 guests from the Indonesian government departments, business communities, and diplomatic corps as well as Chinese entrepreneurs and overseas students were present on the festive occasion.

The Chinese Ambassador Zhang Qiyue and the Vice President Boediono delivered remarks at the reception.

Ambassador Zhang said over the past year, the mutual understanding and friendship between China and Indonesia have been further deepened. China highly values its relationship with Indonesia and hopes the two sides can enhance mutually beneficial cooperation at various levels to press ahead with the bilateral strategic partnership. China is committed to the development of friendly cooperation with ASEAN countries and the whole world, follows the road of peaceful development and is ready to join hands with the international community to cope with various global challenges and maintain world peace, development and prosperity.

Vice President Boediono expressed warm congratulations to the 61st founding anniversary of the People's Republic of China and the 60th anniversary of China-Indonesia diplomatic ties. He applauded China's achievements in economic and social development in the past years and encouraged the two sides to strengthen mutually-beneficial cooperation in all dimensions so as to benefit the two peoples.

Sixty Indonesian children sang the national anthems of China and Indonesia. Their devoted performance touched everyone and won the warm applause from all the guests.

Accompanied by Ambassador Zhang Qiyue, the Vice President Boediono also visited the Exhibition of Masterpieces of Traditional Balinese and Chinese Brush Paintings. He encouraged more cultural exchanges between the two sides. The Exhibition is a big event to commemorate the 60th anniversary of China-Indonesia diplomatic ties.
