MV.Yuangwang-3 Instrumentation Ship berths at Jakarta

On 14 April, China's MV.Yuangwang-3 instrumentation ship arrived at Tanjung Priok Port of Jakarta for a berthing for materials supply and equipment maintenance. Mr. Sun Weide, Chargé d' Affaires of the Chinese Embassy in Indonesia met with leading officials and crew members of the China Satellite Maritime Tracking and Control Department and the MV.Yuangwang-3 instrumentation ship. Mr. Pan Yonglu, Counsellor of the Chinese Embassy in Indonesia, Sr. Col. Zhou Jian, Chinese Defence Attaché to Indonesia, Mr. Tan Shufu, Counsellor of the Chinese Mission to ASEAN and other officials greeted the crew at the port and held a meeting. Over 120 representatives of the Chinese Embassy in Indonesia, Chinese Mission to ASEAN, Chinese enterprises and local Chinese communities visited the ship.

During its stay in Jakarta, some of the crew of the ship held a friendly football match with staff from the Chinese Embassy in Indonesia. The captain of the ship invited officials from the Indonesian Coordinating Ministry for Political, Legal and Security Affairs, Ministry of Transportation, Ministry of Defence, Armed Forces and National Institute of Aeronautics and Space to visit the ship and enjoy lunch.

MV. Yuanwang-3 instrumentation ship is one of the second generation of Chinese comprehensive ships for satellite maritime tracking and control. Before coming to Jakarta, the ship had successfully completed the tracking and control missions in Indian Ocean.
