On January 29th, Ambassador Lu Kang was invited to attended the Kick-Off of Indonesia's ASEAN Chairmanship 2023 ceremony, as well as the Car-Free Day in Jakarta. President Joko Widodo, together with Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi, other relevent ministers of Indonesia, Acting Governor of Jakarta, Ambassadors to Indonesia and ASEAN, and heads of international organizations in Indonesia were also present. 

During the event, after walking with the attendees as part of the Car-Free day activity, President Jokowi delivered a speech officially announcing the kick-off of Indonesia's ASEAN Chairmanship 2023. Nearly 10,000 Indonesian citizens in various Indonesian-style clothing participated in the celebration parade.
